British
Shorthairs in Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, the culture of pedigree cats becomes more and more popular. Not only the number of pedigree cats is increasing, but also the number of genuine breeders (the registered) is increasing too. I am glad to be one of the breeders in Hong Kong though I am still the small one. We are also glad to see the most popular breed British Shorthair is also developing very rapidly and healthily. The quality and number of the British Shorthairs is so satisfied. It really relies on the great effort by some local experience breeders and also thanks the generous breeders overseas. It is true that we cannot know how a good cat is looked like without the import of good typed cats. We need the helping hands from experienced breeders overseas. However, it is not easy to allow the overseas breeders to trust us simply by a letter. To be a new breeder, I understand how difficult to build up a good relationship with the breeders. Especially there is a need to request for importing a good cat for showing and breeding. Fortunately, with the effort by local breeders, the pedigree cats group grows healthily. More and more excellent cats are imported. There are more and more famous catteries are likely to send their cats showing here. Yes, it is a nice thing to allow the great lines of cats to be shown in Hong Kong. It is obvious to see it by visiting the local cat shows. The number of visitors and show cats can reflect the popularity and how successful we did. I really hope there will be more responsible local breeders come out and more excellent cats can be imported. The group of cat fanciers here expands rapidly. It helps to promote the right concept of keeping pets. Also, it helps the aesthetics of pedigree cats among Hong Kong people. Undoubtedly, it also helps to change the eyes of Hong Kong people to animals. It surely can help to encourage local people to adopt pets, which is able to lessen the abandoned animals. If any respectable breeders would like to show their cats
in Hong Kong, please let us know. We are glad to introduce your great
cats to our fanciers. |
